ECOPOL™ L 30D-55

Description:

ECOPOL™ L 30D-55 is a ready-to-use enteric coating system reconstituted using purified water as solvent with addition of plasticizer, glidant & colorants.

For total batch size of 1.0 Kg., 233.0 g. of ECOPOL™ L 30D-55 is required with 338.068 g. of water as total solids content is 18.0 %. 

Equipment:

  • Stainless steel vessel with a capacity that is 25% higher than the total dispersion volume.
  • The height of the vessel should be nearly 25% more than its diameter.
  • The speed of the propeller stirrer should be variable and its blade diameter should be nearly 1/3rd of the vessel diameter. (As shown in Figure, h > d and ds = (1/3)d)

Reconstitution procedure:

  • Take recommended quantity of Titanium dioxide, Talc, Polysorbate 80 & of plasticizer (DEP) into Purified Water under stirring & pass through the colloidal mill/homogenizer for 10 mins & filter the homogenized colloidal solution/dispersion through # 80 meshes.
  • Prepare Sodium Hydroxide solution by dissolving recommended quantity of NaOH in Purified Water.
  • Add slowly the prepared NaOH solution into ECOPOL™L 30D-55 dispersion with continuous stirring for 30 minutes. Then add the prepared colloidal solution/dispersion into it at continuous stirring & continue the stirring throughout the coating process.

Precautions:

  • The use of high speed stirrer or homogenizer is not recommended.
  • The prepared dispersion should not be passed through colloid mill.
  • The dispersion may need gentle stirring during the operation to prevent settling.
